On Saturday May 7th, GMAC was once again privileged to be visited by heli instructors Jeff Sussman and Matt Carmichael, plus this time also by Ben Boldeman.

The day started with a heli setup workshop and Q&A with Ben, followed by an advanced comp then a novice comp.

Matt Carmichael placed 1st in the advance and Gary Butcher 1st in the novice.

Chris Anderson was presented with the encouragement award after placing 3rd in the advanced comp (ahead of some very experienced heli pilots), and later went on to earn his gold heli wings in an impressive display of heli piloting.

In addition, GMAC welcomed a number of visitors who participated in the events, and we were all treated to some spectacular heli flying. Particularly impressive was Jake’s 3D flying including high-speed inverted autorotations!
