Australia Day Award Presented To David Kerr on 26th January 2011.


On Australia Day of 2011, David Kerr, a long term GMAC member, was presented with an Australia Day Award for his outstanding contribution to the community in the field of aeromodelling. The presentation was made by the honourable Jenny Macklin, who is the Federal Member for Jagajaga and the Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. The event was attended by a very large crowd at the Heidelberg Town Hall in Ivanhoe.

The actual wording on the award is:
David has been a member of Greensborough Model Aircraft Club (GMAC) for over 30 years and has been awarded with a Life Membership because of his many years of promoting and instilling a love of modelling and flight to people of all age. David lends his considerable skills to Greensborough College and their model aircraft course with his infectious love of aerodynamics. David epitomises a true club member with his constant willingness to assist in all facets of the club.
